Site Planning and Site Feasibility

JMLA have a strong methodology for integrating sites into their contexts. Techniques such as sieve and cultural are used by the practice to identify critical development issues, and processes are developed for gaining progressive community input into public master plans.

John Mongard began his practice in the area of economic impact assessment, assisting clients in assessing and projecting local, district and regional demand for facilities. This expertise has carried through into the strategic planning work of the practice, and we are now sought after to undertake economic revitalisation strategies, particularly in relation to failing town centres.

We undertake long term forecasting for placemaking projects which usually have implementation timeframes of one to ten years. Our planning projects usually involve economists who provide supporting expertise and analysis.

Recent works have focused on feasibility studies for cultural infrastructure, including interpretive centres, art galleries, museums and regional parks. Prominent recent projects include:

  • The Kingaroy Cultural Precinct, Kingaroy, Queensland
  • The Hallorans Hill Interpretive Park, Atherton, Queensland
  • The Kingaroy Urban Renewal Strategy, Kingaroy, Queensland
  • The Tooradin Marine Life Interpretive Centre, Casey City, Victoria
