Urban Design and Town Planning

JMLA have been a significant influence in developing contemporary approaches to creating and maintaining place character in Australia.

Guidelines for environmentally sustainable development have been at the forefront of our research, with such studies as the Landmatters Eco-Village and the Tooradin Village Community Plan, highlighting new ways of dealing with infrastructure and development.

Strategic planning for urban centres has been undertaken throughout Australia, leading to structure plans, development control plans, cultural plans and economic development plans. One of JMLA unique capacities is to take a project from strategic planning down to the street details.
